Ana Maria Devers wanted to depict the bond that two individual spirits can have together. This pastel piece shows an impressionistic style while giving the viewer a connection to it. The great way she used her color and movement throughout the painting draws the viewers eye to the horse and then onto the face of the Native American woman. The look on both their faces makes you feel as if you too are connected somehow.
